**Biography of Karl Knutson**
At just 28 years old, Karl Knutson has deep roots in the gold mining industry. His father, Marty, moved to Dawson City from North Vancouver, British Columbia, in 1980 and became a significant figure in Yukon’s gold mining landscape. Karl takes immense pride in his First Nations heritage through his mother, Maryann.
Growing up surrounded by mining, Karl now works alongside his childhood friends in the family business, where camaraderie and teamwork are essential. He resides in Dawson City with his girlfriend, Victoria, and their beloved dog, Lennox, a mix of cocker spaniel and Karelian bear dog, who accompanies him on many adventures.
Last season, Karl demonstrated his leadership skills by successfully managing the Sulphur Creek mine, earning the respect of his father and establishing his place in the business. With his sights set on innovation, this season, he is focused on launching a new mining operation at Last Chance Creek, aiming to turn it into a profitable venture.
