Michael Colgan

Michael Colgan, born Michael Hughes between 1972 and 1973 in Keady, County Armagh, is a distinguished Northern Irish actor, author, and educator. Currently, he serves as a Senior Lecturer in Creative Writing at Queen Mary University of London, where he shares his expertise with aspiring writers.

Colgan's academic journey began at Saint Patrick's Grammar School in Armagh, followed by undergraduate studies in English at Corpus Christi College, Oxford. He furthered his education by earning a Master’s degree in Creative Writing from Royal Holloway and later completed a PhD at London Metropolitan University. His quest for knowledge also took him to l'École Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq in Paris, enhancing his theatrical skills.

Throughout his career, Colgan has made significant contributions to literature and the performing arts.
