Layne Harper

Layne Harper, Jr. was born on February 5th in the culturally rich city of Memphis, Tennessee. His diverse heritage includes his mother Faronda, a proud Memphian, and his father, Dr. Layne Harper Sr., an Apostle from Trinidad & Tobago. Growing up in a military family, Layne experienced a dynamic childhood, living in various locations, including seven impactful years in Darmstadt and Mannheim, Germany.

After graduating from Millington Central High School in 2000, Layne returned to Memphis, where he was raised by his maternal grandparents, Emma and Harvey Stephenson. His passion for music led him to Brooklyn, New York, where he found inspiration and support from his paternal grandparents, Rosita and Carl Harper.

In December 2001, Nashville's vibrant music scene became a pivotal point in Layne's life, where he met his future wife, Jennifer Harper. At just 21 years old, he embraced fatherhood with the birth of his son, Xavier, in 2004, later welcoming a second son, Jaydon. In 2009, the family moved to Tampa, Florida, in search of new opportunities.

Layne's musical talents have gained him recognition on major platforms, including MTV, BET, and XXL Magazine, and he has collaborated with global brand PUMA. Transitioning to fashion, he launched his clothing line, VCTRY, showcasing his entrepreneurial flair.

Now residing in Tampa with his family, including their eldest son, Xavier, who serves in the US Navy, Layne remains committed to his family, creativity, and community, continuing to inspire those around him.
