Richard Elfman
Richard Elfman was raised in the vibrant Crenshaw district of Los Angeles, an area famously depicted in the film *Boyz n the Hood*. His diverse career spans several fields, including semi-professional boxing and food and wine criticism, as well as successful endeavors in stage directing. He is also recognized for his talents as an Afro-Latin percussionist and co-founded the innovative band Oingo-Boingo with his brother, Danny Elfman.
Richard's theatrical journey began across the Atlantic, where he collaborated with notable directors such as Jérôme Savary in Paris and Peter Brook in London. For three decades, he has made his mark as a journalist, specializing in food, wine, and entertainment. From 2010 to 2015, he launched and managed Buzzine, a culture and entertainment magazine and website, producing an impressive 275 videos featuring red-carpet events, music, and celebrity interviews.
His family tree is steeped in artistic contributions, with his mother, novelist Blossom "Clare Elfman," sister-in-law actress Bridget Fonda, and son, actor-producer Bodhi Elfman. His connections extend to daughter-in-law Jenna Elfman, niece Mali Elfman, a producer, and nephew Diego Santiago, an Emmy-winning broadcast journalist.
Currently residing in the Hollywood Hills with his actress and dancer wife, Anastasia, Richard is known for hosting "The Barbecue Bacchanals," an underground salon celebrating food, wine, and performance. He continues to direct films and produce live theatre while also performing with the band Mambo Diabolico.
