T. G. Ravindranathan, widely recognized as T. G. Ravi, is a distinguished actor in Malayalam cinema, celebrated particularly for his portrayals of antagonistic characters. He gained prominence alongside Balan K. Nair, dominating the villainous roles in films throughout the late 1970s and 1980s.

Born on May 16, 1944, in Moorkanikkara village, Thrissur, Kerala, Ravi initially pursued a path in engineering, earning a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Government Engineering College, Thrissur, in 1969. His academic journey included a brief tenure at Mar Athanasius College of Engineering, Kothamangalam. An active participant in theater, he also showcased his athletic prowess by representing the University of Kerala in football and hockey. His career took a pivotal turn while working at All India Radio, where he was introduced to the film industry by the playwright Thikkodiyan.

Beyond his acting career, Ravi is an accomplished industrialist, playing a significant role in establishing Thrissur as a hub for the rubber industry as the Managing Director of Suntec Tyres Limited. He has also contributed to the community by serving as the president of The Cochin Devaswom Board, overseeing the management of over 400 temples across the Ernakulam, Thrissur, and Palakkad districts.

T. G. Ravi was married to the late Dr. V. K. Subhadra, a retired government employee, and they have two sons—Ranjith, an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta and London Business School, and Sreejith Ravi, a mechanical engineer and emerging film actor. He is also a proud grandfather of four.
