Matt Macedo

Matt Macedo, born on January 31, 1994, in the San Joaquin Valley, California, developed an early passion for storytelling and performance. From the ages of three to six, he participated in homemade films created by his step-brother, igniting his interest in the cinematic arts. By the age of twelve, he was writing short stories, one of which evolved into his inaugural screenplay, "Envision."

In 2011, following his family’s relocation to Hanford, California, Macedo honed his filmmaking abilities with a poignant short documentary titled "Homeless in Hanford." This work poignantly captured the struggles of addiction and offered a compelling view of homelessness within his local community.

Macedo gained further recognition in 2014 with the production of "Drug of Choice," a film that explored the harrowing journey of a teenager grappling with heroin addiction, revealing how childhood trauma contributed to his plight. This powerful narrative helped Macedo secure a place in film festivals.

In 2016, he took a significant step in his career by moving to Los Angeles to attend The New York Film Academy, where he deepened his filmmaking expertise. While in school, he continued to produce short films, many of which garnered accolades at various film festivals, including "Without Regret" and "Our Oceans." Matt Macedo's dedication to storytelling and his commitment to addressing social issues through film continue to define his burgeoning career in the industry.
