Chantal Poullain
Chantal Poullain, born on August 17, 1956, in Marseille, is a distinguished Czech-French actress known for her impactful presence in both theater and film. Her passion for acting led her to study theater in Geneva, followed by further training in England, which paved the way for her career in French and Swiss television productions.
Poullain was previously married to renowned actor Bolek Polívka, and together they welcomed a son, Vladimír Polívka. Although she spent time in Brno, she now resides in Prague, where she continues to contribute to the arts.
A prominent figure in the theatrical community, she co-founded the Archa Chantal Foundation and has played a pivotal role in various stage productions. Starting in the 1980s, she captivated audiences alongside Polívka in the iconic play "Šašek and Queen," which they performed not only locally but also internationally. Since 1993, this production has been a staple at the Bolek Polívka Theater.
Her versatility is evident in her performances at Klicper's Theater in Hradec Králové, where she took on roles in classics like "Romeo and Juliet" and "Master and Markétka." At the Ungelt Theater in Prague, she showcased her talent in productions such as "Games of Marriage" and "Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks." In January 2017, she joined the cast of "The Naked Truth - Revealed Truth," a collaboration between Bolek Polívka Theater and StageArtCz.
From 2010 to 2013, Poullain also delighted audiences with her chanson project, performing concerts across the Czech Republic alongside saxophonist Štěpán Markovič.
