Youssef Akdim
Youssef Akdim, widely recognized by his stage names Lartiste and ATOMAN, is a celebrated Moroccan rapper and actor. He was born in Imintanoute, Morocco, and relocated to France at the age of seven, settling in the suburbs of Paris, specifically Bondy and Le Blanc-Mesnil. Lartiste's musical journey began at 13 when he joined the rap group Malédiction, and by 16, he had adopted his now-iconic stage persona.
In 2006, he released his debut maxi solo project, "Évasion," marking the start of his solo career. He became part of the French Cut collective, contributing to their 2010 mixtape, "Rap 1.9." Lartiste's first studio album, "Lalbum," debuted in 2013, showcasing a fusion of genres including funk, soul, pop, electro, and African rhythms. His subsequent albums, "Fenomeno" (2015), "Maestro" and "Clandestino" (both in 2016), and "Clandestino" (2018), further solidified his presence in the music industry.
One of Lartiste's most significant achievements came in 2018 with the release of "Mafiosa," featuring Brazilian artist Caroliina. The single soared to number two on the French singles chart, topped the Megafusion chart, and achieved remarkable success in Wallonia and Portugal, becoming the first major French-language radio hit since Stromae's "Papaoutai." Lartiste is also set to make his acting debut in the upcoming film "Atoman" in 2025.
