Jennifer Jason Leigh, born Jennifer Leigh Morrow on February 5, 1962, is a celebrated American actress whose career spans several decades. She first appeared on television in the 1970s, but it was her role in the iconic teen film *Fast Times at Ridgemont High* (1982) that marked her entry into cinema. Leigh garnered significant acclaim for her performances in films like *Last Exit to Brooklyn* (1989), *Miami Blues* (1990), *Backdraft* (1991), *Single White Female* (1992), and *The Hudsucker Proxy* (1994). Her portrayal of the famous writer Dorothy Parker in *Mrs. Parker and the Vicious Circle* (1994) earned her a Golden Globe nomination.

In 1995, she appeared in *Georgia*, a film penned by her mother, Barbara Turner. Collaborating with Alan Cumming, Leigh co-wrote and co-directed *The Anniversary Party* (2001).
