Erin F. Moriarty is a distinguished American television journalist, widely recognized for her impactful reporting and in-depth storytelling. Since 1990, she has served as a correspondent for CBS's acclaimed program "48 Hours," where her investigative work has garnered numerous accolades, including multiple national Emmy Awards. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, and raised in Columbus, Moriarty graduated from Ohio State University, earning a Phi Beta Kappa honor with a degree in behavioral sciences before obtaining her law degree in 1977. She is licensed to practice law in both Ohio and Maryland.

Before her tenure at CBS News, Moriarty honed her reporting skills as a consumer journalist at WMAQ-TV in Chicago from 1983 to 1986, where she received several awards for her contributions. Her career also includes reporting positions at WCMH-TV in Columbus, WJZ-TV in Baltimore, and WJKW-TV in Cleveland.
