Tyler Merna is an emerging young actor renowned for his voice work as ‘Prince James’ in the beloved Disney animated series “Sofia the First.” His journey in performing arts began at the tender age of six, when he took the stage in community theater with a production of “Seussical the Musical.” With the support of his parents, Merna secured an agent and by eight years old, he was making waves in the professional theater scene.
His early stage career flourished in notable off-Broadway productions such as “Afterlight,” “Shine,” and “Displaced Wedding,” where he delivered a poignant portrayal of a family during the Holocaust. Merna's talent caught the attention of producers, leading him to star as ‘Michael Banks’ in the national tour of “Mary Poppins,” eventually transitioning to the Broadway production.
Merna's television career includes appearances in the IFC series “Z Rock” alongside Joan Rivers, as well as roles in NBC’s “30 Rock” with Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin, and Comedy Central’s “Inside Amy Schumer.” Recently, he has expanded his voice-over repertoire with projects like the upcoming animated films “Wrinkles” and “Savva.”
