Steve Hackett

Stephen Richard "Steve" Hackett, born on February 12, 1950, in England, is a distinguished musician, songwriter, singer, and producer, renowned for his role as the lead guitarist of the progressive rock band Genesis from 1971 to 1977. During his tenure with Genesis, he was instrumental in the creation of six studio albums, three live albums, and seven singles, helping to shape the band's iconic sound before embarking on a solo career. In recognition of his contributions, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Genesis in 2010.

Hackett's solo journey began with the release of his debut album, *Voyage of the Acolyte*, in 1975, while he was still part of Genesis. He continued to produce a series of solo albums starting in 1978, showcasing his versatility and creativity. In 1986, he collaborated with fellow guitarist Steve Howe to form GTR, a supergroup that achieved commercial success with their self-titled album, which reached No. 11 on the Billboard 200 and featured the hit single "When the Heart Rules the Mind." Following his departure from GTR in 1987, Hackett refocused on his solo career, consistently releasing new music and touring globally. His enduring influence and prolific output have solidified his status as a prominent figure in the rock music landscape.
