He was notably featured in several beloved series, including the "Our Gang" and "Three Stooges" comedies. Bletcher's talents extended beyond live-action; he was also a prominent voice actor renowned for his unexpectedly deep and powerful baritone.

His contributions to animation include iconic roles for major studios: he voiced Black Pete and the Big Bad Wolf in Disney's "Three Little Pigs" and its sequels, Spike the Bulldog for MGM, and various characters for Warner Bros., most famously as Papa Bear in Chuck Jones' "The Three Bears," taking over the role from Mel Blanc. Bletcher appeared alongside Blanc in "Little Red Riding Rabbit," portraying another legendary wolf.
