Derrick Beckles is a multi-talented Canadian creative known for his work as a writer, director, actor, and comedian. Hailing from Scarborough, Ontario, he gained prominence as the creator and host of the Adult Swim series *Hot Package*. Beckles is also recognized for producing the "TV Carnage" compilation series and played an instrumental role in founding Vice TV.

During his adolescence, Beckles immersed himself in Toronto’s punk music scene, performing with bands such as Black Jello, notorious for their reputation of being banned from numerous venues across the city. His early foray into filmmaking began in high school, where he collaborated with friends on various projects, including a controversial visit to the homes of white supremacists. This passion for storytelling propelled him to pursue film studies at Concordia University.

Beckles’ career flourished as he became a well-known figure in Canadian television, balancing his on-screen presence with stand-up performances in Toronto and New York.
