Ken Weatherwax
Kenneth Patrick Weatherwax (September 29, 1955 – December 7, 2014) was an American child actor renowned for his portrayal of Pugsley Addams on the iconic television series The Addams Family.
Weatherwax began his entertainment career at the young age of nine, making his acting debut in a series of commercials for Gleem toothpaste alongside actress Alice Pearce, known for her role on Bewitched. His breakthrough came when he auditioned for the role of Pugsley, impressing co-stars Carolyn Jones and John Astin. The beloved show aired for two seasons from 1964 to 1966, capturing the hearts of audiences with its quirky humor and gothic charm. Following the show's cancellation, Weatherwax found it challenging to secure roles, as he was frequently typecast in his famous role.
At seventeen, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, seeking a new direction in life. After his service, Weatherwax reprised his role as Pugsley in the 1977 reunion film Halloween with the New Addams Family. Transitioning away from acting, he carved out a successful career behind the scenes as a grip and set builder in the film industry. In his later years, he enjoyed reconnecting with fans at events related to The Addams Family, often appearing alongside his former co-star Lisa Loring, who played his sister, Wednesday Addams. Weatherwax's legacy endures as a cherished figure in television history.
