Pablo Stoll

Pablo Stoll, born in 1974, is a distinguished Uruguayan film director and screenwriter recognized for his impactful contributions to cinema. He pursued his studies in Social Communication at the Catholic University of Uruguay, where he forged a pivotal partnership with Juan Pablo Rebella and producer Fernando Epstein, leading to the establishment of the production company Ctrl Z.

Stoll and Rebella made their directorial debut with the feature film *25 Watts* in 2001, which garnered international acclaim and numerous awards. Their sophomore effort, *Whisky* (2004), premiered at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, where it received the Un Certain Regard award, further solidifying their status in the film industry.

After the tragic passing of Rebella, Stoll directed *Hiroshima* in 2009, a unique "silent musical" that creatively conveyed its narrative through intertitles, eschewing traditional dialogue. This innovative approach showcased Stoll's artistic versatility and vision.

His film *3*, released in 2012, was selected for the Directors' Fortnight section at the Cannes Film Festival, highlighting his continued relevance and influence in contemporary cinema.
