Lily Riley

Lily Riley stands out as one of Australia’s most resilient athletes, embodying strength both on and off the platform. Renowned as an elite powerlifter, she reached remarkable heights in her sport until her life took a dramatic turn in 2020 when she was diagnosed with stage 2 kidney cancer, with a significant 12cm tumor. Despite this daunting challenge, Lily emerged victorious as a cancer survivor and has continued to excel in powerlifting, boasting impressive personal records of 272.5kg in squats, 235kg in deadlifts, and 120kg in bench press.

In addition to her athletic accomplishments, Lily is making her mark in the film industry. Her acting debut in the film "The Edge" showcases her multifaceted talents. The casting team conducted a nationwide search for an authentic Indigenous female powerlifter, and Lily, a proud Wiradjuri woman and competitive athlete, found herself perfectly aligned with the character she portrays. As she ventures into Film and TV, Lily is passionate about representing strong and genuine female roles. Her journey not only highlights her extraordinary physical prowess but also her determination to inspire and empower others, making her an influential figure in both athletics and storytelling.
