Carles Sans
Carles Sans was born in the summer of 1955, marking the beginning of a life filled with laughter and creativity. His early years were marked by the wholesome Canarian dish, gofio, which contributed to his adorable chubby appearance, much to the delight of those who saw his baby pictures. By the age of ten, Sans had already honed his comedic skills, making his classmates laugh while evading the watchful eyes of teachers. His teenage years took a turn when he attended a strict “model” school for priests, where discipline was enforced rather harshly. Later, he transferred to an upscale school in Barcelona, where he struggled academically but found his passion for storytelling.
After a brief stint in law school, he completed his military service in Almería, which led him to discover that acting was his true calling. He formed a close friendship with Joan Gràcia and Paco Mir, and together they established the renowned comedy troupe Tricicle. Sans trained at the Institut del Teatre in Barcelona, and their performances have garnered significant acclaim.
In addition to his work with Tricicle, Sans has directed several award-winning short films, contributed articles to prominent newspapers, co-authored a book, and recently launched a solo show that is now on tour. With a flourishing career, he embraces the idea of many more years filled with creativity and joy ahead.
