Jess Barbour
Jess Barbour is a dedicated actor, educator, and Equity Member Candidate based in the Southeast. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre from Elon University and has further honed her craft through the prestigious Summer Intensive program at The Esper Studio in New York City, where she studied under renowned acting coach Bill Esper.
While pursuing her degree, Jess had the opportunity to participate in the Broadway Theatre Project, where she learned from industry legends such as Anne Reinking, Ben Vereen, and Frank Wildhorn, enriching her theatrical knowledge and experience.
In addition to her acting career, Jess has made significant contributions to arts education in the community. She has served as a choreographer at various institutions including St. David’s Episcopal School, Sanderson High School, and Apex High School, as well as leading camps and productions with the North Raleigh Arts and Creative Theatre (NRACT).
At Duke University, she plays a pivotal role as a Standardized Patient, assisting medical students in developing essential bedside manner skills. Furthermore, Jess actively engages in teaching anti-bullying programs through the NCT Conservatory in local Wake County schools.
Her professional performance credits are extensive, encompassing work across the Southeast in industrials, commercials, voiceovers, television, and both independent and feature films, showcasing her versatility and passion for the performing arts.
