Wyn Reed
Aisling "Tucker" Moore-Reed, born on October 15, 1989, is a former American novelist, journalist, and actress, known for her contributions to young adult literature and her work in film. Under her pen name, Tucker Reed, she co-wrote the celebrated fantasy novels Amber House (2012) and its sequel, Neverwas (2014), published by Scholastic’s Arthur A. Levine Books imprint. In 2020, she showcased her acting talent in the indie horror film From the Dark, adopting the stage name Wyn Reed.
Born in Ashland, Oregon, she is the daughter of bestselling author Kelly Moore and English teacher Daniel Reed. From a young age, Reed immersed herself in the arts, participating in theater, writing award-winning essays, and serving as editor-in-chief of her high school newspaper. She pursued her passions further at the University of Southern California, studying broadcast journalism, theater, and cinema, while contributing to the Daily Trojan.
Reed's literary journey began in her teens as she collaborated with her mother and sister to create Amber House, which earned accolades such as a spot on the Texas Library Association’s TAYSHAS reading list and a finalist position for the Oregon Book Award for Young Adult Literature.
Her life took a significant turn in 2016 following her arrest related to the shooting death of her uncle, Shane Moore. After pleading guilty to manslaughter in 2020, she served her sentence at Coffee Creek Correctional Facility. Reed's role in From the Dark was released during her incarceration, merging her real-life experiences with her on-screen character. She was released in November 2024.
