Chris Larner

Chris Larner, born in 1959, hails from Harlow in Essex, where he attended Burnt Mill School before pursuing his passion for acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in 1977. Following his graduation, Larner gained recognition for his role as Clingfilm in the acclaimed fire service drama "London's Burning," which showcased his talent in front of a wide audience. In addition to his acting career, Larner has made significant contributions to the world of music, having penned several songs and musicals. Notably, his song "Getting Out" was featured in the Morecambe and Wise tribute production "The Play What I Wrote."

In 1983, Larner married drama instructor Allyson Lee, with whom he welcomed a son, George, a year later. Despite their divorce, the two maintained a strong friendship. Their bond was particularly evident when Allyson was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis; Larner supported her decision to seek assisted dying at the Dignitas clinic in Switzerland. This profound experience inspired him to write the play "An Instinct for Kindness," which has received both critical acclaim and audience appreciation for its sensitive and poignant exploration of love, loss, and compassion.
