Allison Smith
Allison Smith embarked on her illustrious career at the tender age of nine, making her Broadway debut in the original production of "Evita." By the time she turned ten, she had secured the iconic role of Annie in the beloved musical "Annie," becoming the youngest and longest-running star in Broadway history, with over 1,000 performances spanning nearly three years.
Her impressive vocal talents have graced prestigious stages, including Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, Radio City Music Hall, and even The White House. Following her stint in "Annie," Smith transitioned to television, portraying Jennie Lowell on the CBS sitcom "Kate and Allie," which ran for six seasons. She is perhaps best known for her role as Mallory O'Brien, the chief of staff's daughter and love interest of Sam Seaborn (played by Rob Lowe), on NBC's acclaimed series "The West Wing," where she appeared throughout all seven seasons.
In 2004, she showcased her versatility in the CBS miniseries "Helter Skelter," taking on the challenging role of Patricia Krenwinkel, a member of Charles Manson's infamous cult. Smith also starred in the pilot of "The Closer" in 2005 and has appeared in various television series including "Buddy Faro" and "Spy Game." Her film credits include leading roles in "A Reason to Believe," as well as supporting parts in "Holes" and "Switchback." Additionally, her theater work includes performances in David Mamet's "Oleanna" and "QED" alongside Alan Alda, as well as a collaboration with Randy Newman in "The Education of Randy Newman." A native of New York City, Smith grew up in Bergen County, New Jersey, and has also pursued writing alongside her acting career.
