Maria Protopappa

Maria Protopappa, born on February 28, 1971, in Korydallos, Attica, is a distinguished Greek actress known for her dynamic roles in theater, television, and film. She began her artistic journey as a teenager, joining an amateur acting troupe, and later honed her craft at the renowned "Karolos Koon" Art Theater, graduating in the mid-1990s. For six years, she dedicated herself to the stage, showcasing her talent in various theatrical productions.

Her foray into television commenced in 1999 with her role in the drama series "Blood Libel" on ET1. Over the years, Protopappa has appeared in several notable series, including the detective dramas "Surface" and "Forget Me," as well as the social series "To Deka," adapted from Karagatsis' novel. She is particularly recognized for her collaborations with Thodoris Papadoulakis in the acclaimed series "The Island" (2010-2011) and "The Word You Don’t Say" (2016-2017). Most recently, she has captivated audiences in the popular series "Sasmos," airing from 2021 to 2023.
