Ben Hernandez Bray

Ben Hernandez Bray is a distinguished film and television director hailing from Los Angeles, California, where he grew up in a challenging neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley. As the eldest of six siblings, he was nurtured by both his mother and grandmother, drawing strength from his Mexican and Irish heritage. In the late 1980s, Bray entered the stunt industry, leveraging his boxing prowess. He quickly distinguished himself as one of the few successful Latino stunt performers in Hollywood, eventually rising to prominence as an acclaimed stunt coordinator and second unit director. He collaborated with renowned filmmakers such as Joe Carnahan on "Smoking Aces" and David O. Russell on "Silver Linings Playbook."

With over 25 years in the entertainment sector and more than 150 credits to his name, Bray made his television directorial debut in 2015 with NBC/Universal's "State of Affairs," featuring Katie Heigl. He has since directed episodes for major networks, including Fox/Bruckheimer, CW/Greg Berlanti, and ABC/Freeform.

In 2018, Bray took a significant step forward in his career with his feature film debut, "El Chicano," which he co-wrote with Joe Carnahan.
