Béatrice Arnac

Béatrice Arnac (April 23, 1931 – October 5, 2020) was a multifaceted French artist, renowned for her talents as an actress, singer, and composer. Born into a creative family, she was the daughter of renowned cartoonist Marcel Arnac and the niece of the esteemed explorer Marie Gallaud.

In 1962, Arnac earned significant recognition when she was awarded the prestigious Grand Prize from the Académie Charles Cros. Her artistic repertoire included an impressive collection of 22 songs penned by distinguished poets and writers such as Paul Éluard, Paul Verlaine, Arthur Rimbaud, Robert Desnos, and Bertolt Brecht. She showcased her musical prowess in various venues, including a notable performance in the second act of the play *Le Bel indifférent*, and graced the stage at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées. Additionally, she made appearances on the popular television program *La Chance aux chansons*.

Arnac's film credits included a role in the 1956 classic *La Traversée de Paris*, further solidifying her presence in the French entertainment industry. She continued to inspire audiences with her artistic contributions until her passing on October 5, 2020, in Castels et Bézenac.
