Robert Hobbs

Robert Hobbs, born in Cape Town, South Africa in 1972, spent his formative years in Welkom, a quaint mining town. It was here, while attending Christian Brothers College, that he discovered his passion for the performing arts, participating in school productions and enjoying local film screenings that sparked his love for performance.

In 1993, Hobbs earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Performers Diploma in Speech and Drama from the University of Cape Town, marking the beginning of a vibrant career in theatre. His talent quickly caught the attention of the industry, leading him to take on several notable roles. He made a significant impact with his portrayal in Shakespeare's Macbeth at the South African State Theatre, showcasing his range and depth as an actor.

Hobbs also gained critical acclaim for his performance in Yasmina Reza's Life x 3, which earned him a nomination for the prestigious Naledi Award for Best Supporting Actor. His work continues to resonate within the South African theatre community, establishing him as a respected figure in the performing arts.
