Emma Howard
Emma Howard is a talented British actress originally from London, who has made Japan her home since 2002. Her passion for acting ignited at a young age while participating in numerous productions at a drama club linked to the Theatre Royal Norwich. Emma honed her craft at Mountview Theatre School in London, where she developed a strong foundation in performance.
Throughout her career, Emma has showcased her skills in a wide range of productions, touring across the UK and gracing the prestigious stage of the Edinburgh Festival. She has had notable performances in London's West End, including appearances at the renowned National Theatre. Additionally, she has contributed to several UK television dramas, further establishing her versatility as an actress.
Since moving to Japan, Emma has expanded her repertoire to include film, television, theatre, and commercials. She has been a prominent figure on the NHK English-language education program Shigoto no Kiso Eigo since 2014. Emma's voice is familiar to viewers of NHK WORLD TV, where she has narrated various programs such as Tokyo Eye, Rising Artist, Science Zero, Artisan x Designer, and A Century on Film. Since 2015, she has served as the main narrator for Japanology Plus.
Beyond acting, Emma is also an accomplished singer, performing at weddings, on cruise ships, and in various venues throughout Tokyo, and she lends her vocal talents to commercial projects as well.
