Josué Maychi is a distinguished Mexican actor renowned for his versatile performances in film, theater, and television. His notable roles include Cuauhtémoc in *Malinche* (2018), Potonchán in *Hernán* (2019), and Attuma in *Black Panther: Wakanda Forever* (2022).

Born in Hopelchén, Campeche, Mexico, Maychi spent his formative years immersed in his Mayan heritage, becoming fluent in the Mayan language. At 18, he relocated to San Francisco de Campeche to pursue his passion for the performing arts, eventually moving to Mexico City, where he earned a degree in Administration in 2011. However, his true calling lay in theater, and he quickly established himself in this field, focusing on projects that highlight the experiences of indigenous communities.

In 2015, he starred in the play *El Molino de Maiz*, shedding light on the lives of Mayan women. His performance in *Andares* (2017), under the direction of Héctor Flores Komatsu, facilitated collaborations with actors from various regions and allowed him to share their powerful stories through a tour across countries such as China, Germany, and France.

Maychi made his film debut in *Presencias* (2021), directed by Luis Mandoki, alongside talents like Alberto Ammann and Yalitza Aparicio. As a playwright, he has contributed works such as *Jats'uts sáastal Bello Amanecer* (2014) and *Ch'e'en: peeking into the well*, emphasizing the importance of Mayan language in the arts. Additionally, he has served as an advisor for theater projects in his native tongue, furthering the visibility of Mayan culture.
