Tracy Lynn Curry, widely recognized as The D.O.C., was born on June 10, 1968, and has made significant contributions to the world of hip hop as a rapper, songwriter, and record producer. Curry initially gained attention as a member of the Fila Fresh Crew before making a remarkable impact in the industry by collaborating with the influential gangsta rap group N.W.A. He played a pivotal role in shaping their sound, co-writing numerous tracks, including contributions to Eazy-E's debut album, Eazy-Duz-It.

The D.O.C. also partnered with renowned producer Dr. Dre, co-writing Dre's landmark solo debut album. In return, Dr. Dre produced The D.O.C.'s own solo debut, which was released through Ruthless Records. This album highlighted Curry's lyrical prowess and solidified his place in the hip hop pantheon.

In addition to his collaborations, The D.O.C. was instrumental in the foundation of Death Row Records alongside Dr. Dre and Suge Knight, a label that would go on to define West Coast rap.
