Ron Myles
Ron “Prime Tyme” Myles, hailing from the vibrant community of Orange Mound in Memphis, was the sole dancer in his neighborhood, cultivating a passion for movement from a young age. In 2009, he relocated to Los Angeles, accompanied by his cousin and close friend, Charles “Lil Buck” Riley. This move marked a significant turning point in Myles's career, establishing him as a prominent figure in Memphis Jookin’, a distinctive style of dance that he frequently showcases alongside Riley.
Myles's talent has earned him recognition across various platforms. He appeared as a featured dancer in the 2011 remake of Footloose and starred in a memorable Diet Pepsi advertisement featuring Sofia Vergara. His work has also included a collaboration with Adidas Originals, along with a presentation at a TED Talk that highlighted his artistic journey and the cultural significance of dance.
A passionate advocate for youth engagement in the arts, Myles has headlined events at the prestigious Vail International Dance Festival. There, he collaborates with Celebrate the Beat, a program dedicated to providing intensive music and dance education to hundreds of students during a transformative summer residency in the Vail Valley. Through his performances and mentorship, Myles continues to inspire the next generation of dancers, leaving an indelible mark on the world of dance.
