Conrad Brooks, born Conrad Biedrzycki on January 3, 1931, in Baltimore, Maryland, emerged from humble beginnings as the son of Polish immigrants. Growing up in a large family with seven siblings and a father who worked as a baker, Brooks ventured to Hollywood at the age of seventeen with his brothers, Henry and Ted. It was in a donut shop that he had a fateful meeting with the infamous filmmaker Ed Wood, known for his unconventional and often derided films.

Brooks made his debut in Wood's fifteen-minute short film, "Range Revenge," marking the start of a unique partnership. He showcased his versatility with multiple roles in the cult classic "Glen or Glenda," but it was his portrayal of Patrolman Jamie in "Plan 9 from Outer Space" that solidified his status as a beloved figure in the realm of cult cinema. This film, often labeled the worst ever made, has garnered a passionate following, further elevating Brooks’ status among fans of B-movie fare.

Additionally, Brooks made a brief appearance in the notoriously low-budget film "The Beast of Yucca Flats." Throughout his career, he remained a dedicated actor, beloved for his contributions to the world of independent filmmaking and his ability to embrace the charm of the unconventional.
