Julia Dordel
Julia Dordel is a multifaceted talent, excelling as an actress, writer, producer, and forest scientist with a PhD from the University of British Columbia. Fluent in German, English, and Spanish, she brings a diverse perspective to her work. Julia's background as a semi-professional Modern Pentathlete, where she trained with the Canadian Olympic Team until 2008, showcases her athletic prowess across disciplines such as pistol shooting, fencing, swimming, running, and horseback riding.
Hailing from Germany, Julia's passion for both the arts and sciences was evident from a young age. Throughout her schooling, she took center stage in various theatre productions and creatively produced documentary films for her science classes. Although encouraged by her family to pursue a business or scientific career, she forged her own path, completing an apprenticeship in banking before obtaining an undergraduate degree, two master's degrees, and a PhD in Forest Sciences. Alongside her academic achievements, she also delved into modeling, worked at a radio station, and studied acting in theatre and film.
Driven by the desire to communicate groundbreaking discoveries in green science to the public, Julia co-founded Libelle Productions with fellow actress Anita Reimer. In 2013, she established Dorcon Film in Hannover, Germany, further solidifying her commitment to merging her scientific knowledge with her passion for film.
