Miguel Gomes

Miguel Gomes, born in 1972 in Lisbon, Portugal, is a distinguished film director known for his innovative storytelling and unique cinematic style. He honed his craft at the Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema, where he studied cinema, laying a strong foundation for his future career.

Before stepping into directing, Gomes made his mark as a film critic and author, contributing theoretical insights into the world of cinema. His directorial debut came with "The Face You Deserve" in 2004, followed by the critically acclaimed "Our Beloved Month of August" in 2008, which showcased his ability to blend documentary and fiction seamlessly.
