Carolina Valdés
Carolina Valdés is an accomplished performer, writer, and theatre maker whose career spans various facets of the performing arts. She honed her craft at the Col·legi de Teatre in Barcelona and the École Internationale de Théâtre de Jacques Lecoq in Paris, where she formed a pivotal partnership with Joseph Alford. In 1999, she became Co-Artistic Director of Theatre O, where she has been instrumental in co-creating and performing in all of the company's productions.
Valdés holds a BA Hons degree in Journalism from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, which complements her artistic pursuits. Beyond her work with Theatre O, she has made significant contributions as an actor and Movement Director across theatre, opera, film, and television. Her notable collaborations include projects with acclaimed director Phyllida Lloyd on the Shakespeare Trilogy, filmmaker Daria Martin, playwright Jonathan Young, and composer Melanie Wilson.
In addition to her artistic endeavors, Carolina is dedicated to education, having taught at prestigious institutions such as the Central School of Speech and Drama, Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, and Guildford Drama School. For the past eight years, she has also been a part of ATT, a company that uses drama to examine workplace behavior. Furthermore, she has spent nearly a decade translating comic books and graphic novels from English and French into Spanish, showcasing her diverse talents and commitment to the arts.
