Kerli Kõiv, widely recognized as Kerli, is an accomplished Estonian singer and songwriter born on February 7, 1987, in Elva, Estonia. Her musical journey began early as she participated in various singing competitions, ultimately catching the attention of LA Reid, who signed her to Island Records in 2006.
In 2007, Kerli made her debut with an extended play, followed by her first studio album, *Love Is Dead*, in 2008. The album made waves on the Billboard 200, with its lead single "Walking on Air" gaining international acclaim, including recognition as the iTunes Store's Single of the Week, amassing over 500,000 downloads. The following years saw her transition from alternative rock to a more electronic sound, highlighted by her 2010 hit "Army of Love."
Kerli's creative evolution continued with the release of her second extended play, *Utopia*, in early 2013, which also charted on the Billboard 200. The project yielded popular tracks like "The Lucky Ones," "Army of Love," and "Zero Gravity," all of which achieved top ten positions on Billboard's Hot Dance Club Songs chart. Notably, she co-wrote "Skyscraper" and "I Feel Immortal," which were later performed by Demi Lovato and Tarja Turunen, respectively.
