Pamela Rooke, famously known as Jordan, emerged from Seaford as a pivotal figure in the London punk scene, contributing significantly to the development of the W10 punk aesthetic alongside her work as a model for Vivienne Westwood. Her dynamic career spanned multiple realms, including punk performance, band management, and acting.
Rooke made her mark in film with a notable cameo in Derek Jarman's groundbreaking debut, *Sebastiane*. She further showcased her talent by taking on the lead role of Amyl Nitrate, a punk "anti-historian," in Jarman's subsequent film, *Jubilee*. This character was inspired by the drug Amyl Nitrite, reflecting the edgy themes prevalent in punk culture.
In addition to her film appearances, Rooke was featured in Julien Temple's *The Great Rock and Roll Swindle*, where she famously donned a T-shirt emblazoned with "only anarchists are pretty." Her presence on stage with the Sex Pistols during their iconic first live television performance of "Anarchy in the U.K." in August 1976 on Tony Wilson's *So It Goes* further solidified her status as a key influencer in the punk movement.
