Mary Kathleen Gordon, affectionately known as Kathy, hails from Peoria, Illinois, where her Irish Catholic upbringing shaped her vibrant personality. Though she may have the appearance of a nun, she thrives in portraying complex and darker characters, embodying a blend of warmth and mischief. Her journey into acting began at the young age of 14 when she took on the role of a 40-year-old shopkeeper in Peoria's Community Children's Theatre production of "Nicolo and Nicolette."

Pursuing her passion, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre from Butler University and went on to perform in seven seasons of summer stock theatre throughout the Midwest, showcasing her talents as a triple threat. In 1978, she ventured to San Francisco, where she charmed audiences as the Buddha Bottom in "Minnie Mouse and the Tap-Dancing Buddha." The following year, her dedication to serious acting led her to The American Conservatory Theatre's Summer Training Program.

By the early 1980s, MaryKathleen had made her way to New York City, studying with Greg Zittel at the Neighborhood Playhouse while appearing in numerous commercials. Gaining recognition as “That Singing Comedienne,” she captivated audiences with her one-woman shows, including "Don't Call Me Mary" and "60 Seconds from Sanity." Her standout performance in Nicky Silver's dark comedy "Fetid Itch" earned her rave reviews, with Backstage calling her "fantastic, quirky, and unpredictable."

In search of new opportunities and a warmer climate, Kathy relocated to Los Angeles, where she embraced motherhood by adopting a son in 2003. Her experiences as a single mother have enriched her comedic perspective. In LA, she has enjoyed a flourishing career with notable roles in popular television series such as "Weeds," "Cold Case," and "Murphy Brown."
