Treasure hunter Jackson Slate sets out to uncover the legendary Lost Gold of Cortez in the Caribbean, using dynamite to excavate ancient layers of sediment. However, his efforts unleash a malevolent force that devastates his boat and slaughters his crew. As the sole survivor, Jackson partners with marine biologist Sarah to revisit the site of the chaos. Their discovery of a mysterious egg leads to the hatching of a terrifying prehistoric creature, the P-Rex, which threatens to annihilate the island and everyone on it.
