On a bright November day in 1938, a stunning white schooner departed from Greenwich Village, led by its young Estonian captain, Ahto Valter. Among the wealthy passengers from the US, Canada, and England were his Scottish-American wife and their toddler son, Teddy, aged one and a half. With a crew of adventurers handpicked from five thousand American applicants, the seventy-ton auxiliary ketch, also named Ahto, embarked on an unforgettable journey around the world, proudly flying the Estonian flag.
