Karol Karol, a Polish immigrant, faces a series of setbacks when his French wife, Dominique, ends their marriage just six months in, citing his impotence. With their shared business gone, he is compelled to leave France. In a bid to return to Poland, Karol teams up with Mikołaj, another Polish expatriate, who agrees to help him cross the border back to his homeland.
