Mike Alvarado, a working-class Kansan, pours his family’s savings into risky cryptocurrencies, hoping to pull them out of poverty. But his investing spirals into a full-blown gambling addiction, dragging him into a nightmarish descent of anxiety and ruin. Along the way, he damages his bond with his girlfriend, neglects his mentally disabled brother, and strains ties with his cousin, a recovering junkie.
