Underground (2020)

Set in the lavish whaling hub of 1850s New Bedford, MA, a family's beliefs clash over the treatment of African Americans amid the pre-Civil War slavery crisis. William M. Thomas, a medical surgeon grappling with his faith, experiences a life-altering moment when he hears God's voice during a near-death encounter. Driven by newfound conviction, he embarks on a mission for freedom and redemption, evolving into a prominent abolitionist.
