S05E12 Dancing in the Dark

Maxine takes a risk by reuniting a young boy, soon to leave juvenile detention, with his mother, who had previously been neglectful. Meanwhile, Amy steps in for another judge in criminal court and quickly discovers her past connections with both attorneys involved in the arson case she’s handling. Kyle and Heather decide to give their relationship another shot. Amy surprises David with a new pair of shoes to replace the damaged ones, leading him to ask her out again, and their date turns out wonderfully. After Maxine hires Ignacio to work on their yard, he expresses the need to understand her better before crafting the ideal garden, and they share a night of dancing together.
