S04E09 Reasons To Believe

Nicholas Engbloom arrives at Cage & Fish seeking John’s assistance with a murder trial. The case centers around Melanie West, who has Tourette's syndrome and inadvertently hit her boyfriend with her car. She initially claims it was intentional, motivated by a desire to avoid the shame she's faced throughout her life. John persuades her to be honest, leading to a victory in court. As they navigate Melanie's situation, Nicholas also grapples with a divorce from his wife, who feels neglected due to his commitment to work. After a health scare, he decides to leave his legal career for good. Meanwhile, Richard instructs Mark on using a “sex song” to enhance his intimacy with Elaine, while John asks Melanie out on a date.
