S02E04 Pax Vobiscum

Title: Pax Vobiscum Plot: After confessing to heresy while being tortured, Savonarola faces execution by hanging, ordered by Pope Alexander VI. In his final moments, he invokes a curse upon Cesare Borgia and his family, calling on divine retribution. Meanwhile, Cesare participates in the Midnight Mass and celebrates Easter with the customary Florentine fireworks. His longtime friend Alessandro offers him a blessing of "God's peace," but Cesare seems far more consumed by his own ambitions than by any thoughts of divine tranquility.
