Title: Shroud for a Nightingale (1) Plot: In January 1975, the tragic death of nursing student Heather Pearce occurs during a training exercise. Detective Chief Inspector Adam Dalgliesh arrives to lead the investigation, joined by his colleague DS Masterson. The autopsy conducted by Dr. Chopra reveals that Pearce was a victim of poisoning. As Dalgliesh and Masterson conduct interviews with the nursing staff, they face resistance from the Matron, who tries to obstruct their inquiries.
