“Station wagons are a quintessential part of American culture,” said David Freiburger back in 1998 as the editor of Car Craft magazine. Two decades later, that sentiment still holds true! Car enthusiasts are drawn to vintage station wagons, many of which are still affordably priced. In this episode of Roadkill Garage, Freiburger picks up a 1968 Chrysler Town & Country wagon for just $1,800, boasting a powerful 440ci big-block engine. Nicknamed the Gargantuwagon, Freiburger and Steve Dulcich demonstrate how to inspect any classic car before showing how to give it a good beating without significant damage. They soon realize that Dulcich’s 1967 Pontiac Bonneville wagon from Episode 11 should join the fun. And if two massive American wagons are great, then adding Lucky Costa from HOT ROD Garage with his 1966 Plymouth Fury, featuring a 512ci big-block, makes it even better!
