A human skeleton is unearthed in the trenches of an ancient Civil War site, prompting Brennan and Booth to jump into the investigation. Despite the historical significance, Brennan swiftly determines that the remains belong to Dan Pinard, a contemporary dentist from the area. As Booth delves into potential suspects, including the victim's ex-boyfriend, Hodgins and lab intern Vincent Nigel-Murray tirelessly scrub the bones to remove a persistent clay residue that's hindering their efforts to uncover the cause of death. Meanwhile, Booth's brother, Jared, returns from his adventures with unexpected revelations.
