Following a successful stint in Canada with Second City TV on Global and SCTV on CBC, the cast took a leap into the American television scene when NBC offered them a slot for SCTV Network 90. They brought along their beloved, eccentric characters and the charm that defined their previous shows. Dick Blasucci, who had started writing for them during their second series, returned as a recurring straight man. Initially, Tony Rosato and Robin Duke contributed scripts before leaving to join Saturday Night Live.
