S01E05 Mentor
The team arrives on a planet where a faction of the locals, the Mystari, is under assault from another group armed with advanced weaponry. They encounter Shepherd, a former member of the Stargate team who once trained Gus. Shepherd insists that the group he attacked are merely bandits, and his followers revere him. Initially, Gus ignores Shepherd's manipulative behavior, but Stacey helps him see the truth. Anticipating Gus's resistance, Shepherd calls upon the Tlak'khan, only to learn they intend to eliminate the team. Ultimately, he chooses to ally with Gus, urging the Mystari to chart their own course before departing alone.
